Hello Families!!

Rejoice in the LORD always!  I hope you are well.  We are preparing to offer religious education classes again this fall.  Given the current state, however, classes will look a little different this year.

 I. We will adhere to the guidelines given to us by the Diocese of Green Bay.

  1. All classrooms will be sanitized before and after every class.

  2. The doorknobs, cabinets, and countertops, etc. will also be sanitized before and after all classes.

  3. Hand sanitizer will be provided.

  4. All catechists will wear masks or shields, as needed.

  5. The number of students per classroom will allow for proper social distancing and all students will be facing the same direction.

  6. Masks are currently required by the state and the diocese for students.

  7. Any student who is sick in any way should remain at home.

  8. Parents who walk their children inside and/or pick them up inside will be required to wear masks.

  9. Parents are responsible for taking their children's temperatures and keeping them home if they are not feeling well.

II. There will be no Kindergarten classes this year.

III. First and Second graders will participate in the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd program. For second graders, this will also be their sacramental preparation. Therefore, they will meet on a weekly basis. To keep class size down, we are offering two class options which are both on Wednesdays. You can have your child attend Session 1 from 4-5:30 pm OR Session 2 from 6-7:30 pm. You will be able to choose your preference on the registration form.

Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS) is a Montessori-based Catholic faith formation program where children can grow in their relationship with God through a deep engagement in scripture and liturgy. Class takes place in the Atrium, which is a specially prepared room where children experience hands-on learning that leads them into a relationship with Jesus.

IV.-Grades 3-10 will meet every other week. Odd number grades will meet one week and even number grades will meet the next week. Group A will include grades 3, 5, 7, 9 and Group B will include grades 4, 6, 8 10. Students and families will be encouraged to complete assignments on the off week. Please download the calendar here.

V.-11/Confirmation will meet weekly.

VI. We are offering classroom and online options this year and you will be able to indicate your choice on the registration form.

Homeschool/Online Options

For Grades K-8 only
If you wish to homeschool, you can register your child on your own at My Catholic Faith Delivered , which is a digital option for the Faith & Life Series that we use in class, for $21 per student, in which case you would not need to register with us (pay them not the parish).

However, if you wish for us to help and monitor progress, you can still register with the parish and we will set you up and monitor your child's progress. Contact me with any questions. This can be very confusing!

You can register your children here (if you choose to do it on your own)

High School-Grades 9-11

Students who wish to homeschool will still need to register with the parish. A workbook and access to online videos will be provided to each student at the appropriate time. Parents or students will need to stop in and pick up materials when notified to do so with further instructions on how to access the digital platform.

*High School students will receive access to Ascension Press courses. These will include any of the following classes: T3: Timeline Bible Study; Altaration: The Mystery of the Mass Revealed; YOU: Life, Love, & the Theology of the Body

* 11th/Confirmation students will complete: Chosen: Your Journey Toward Confirmation, which will also be used in the classroom setting. Confirmation students will also have additional assignments geared specifically toward Confirmation preparation.

You will choose whether you wish to have your student receive classroom or online instruction on the Registration Form.

The registration form is available via Google forms here:

If you’d like a paper copy, please contact the Religious Education office at jstemler@mpbparishnl.org, or 920-982-9025.

You will receive a Tuition Statement via mail or email. I am happy to share that there will be an online payment option this year, which will include a 2.9% + .30 fee. If you know you do not have any SCRIP credit, you are free to pay online at https://www.paypal.com/paypalme/MPBParish and is also located on the parish webpage at https://www.mostpreciousbloodchurch.com/. If you believe you have earned SCRIP credit, then please wait for your statement.

The parish offers scholarships for those who cannot afford tuition.  Please contact Joan for more information. All information is confidential.

These last few months have been an adventure and we will work with you as best we can. We simply ask that you use common sense and keep your children home if they are not feeling well and continue to teach them good hygiene. Most importantly, be kind to others always and allow for individuality, which is what we are called to do as Christians. Trust that each person is making decisions that they feel are best for themselves and their family.

We are definitely being challenged in our desire to trust God and to know that He’s where we are going. We will make every effort to help you and your family draw close to Jesus Christ. Always feel free to contact us if you have questions, suggestions, or needs. God bless you and your family!

Please click on the link in the email to register your children for Religious Education classes as soon as possible.

St. Joseph, pray for us.
